Martin Runs Hit String to 30 Straight Games Monday, July 25th , 2078 The Amarillo Armadillos stopped the Florida Flamingos, 4-0, and Ben Martin collected a base hit yet again. The Amarillo left fielder finished with 1 hit to run his consecutive-game hitting streak to 30. "I want to get a hit every time up," a visibly excited Martin told reporters after the contest. "I want to get a hit every game I play. Right now, I feel like I could take this streak to 100 games." Ben Martin flied out in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Daithi Kennedy-Senan in the 5th and flied out in the 7th. Martin on the season is batting .338 with 14 home runs.
