Amarillo Catcher Picked MiLPBE Player of the Week Monday, July 31st , 2045 20-year-old Giancarlo Velasquez made a few Amarillo headlines during this past week as the rookie catcher proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and Minor League PBE officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort. He cracked 13 hits in 23 at-bats to put up a .565 average. Velasquez collected 1 home run, 7 RBIs and scored 4 runs. Hitting .248 to date, Velasquez has 5 home runs and 29 RBIs.
