A good performance from designated hitter Hogfeather Jones helped the Anchorage Wheelers defeat the State College Swift Steeds , 6-5. Jones was 4-5 with 4 singles for the Wheelers. Anchorage reliever Reed Rothchild was credited with the win, to go to 3-2. Nero Mantics took the loss for State College. With the win, the Wheelers sit at 40-36.

Anchorage used the timely hitting of Zen Bobrist to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Wheelers on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 6 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"It was a test of wills," said , the Anchorage skipper. "I'm glad we came out of it with a win."
