Eshenbaugh Helps Aviators Defeat Scorpions, 8-5
|
The Outer Banks Aviators grabbed a win, 8-5, over the Death Valley Scorpions at Cari Price Memorial Stadium. Outer Banks left fielder Patrick Eshenbaugh went 4-5 with a home run, a triple, and 2 doubles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Zach Voss earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. He upped his record to 2-3. The third-place Aviators have won 6 in a row.
The game was all tied up in the top of the ninth, until Eshenbaugh delivered big-time for Outer Banks, stroking a dramatic 2-run triple off Bubba Blaze. The game-changing hit put the Aviators on top, 7-5.
