Starting pitcher Crabby Pebbles pitched well enough to help the Providence Crabs beat the Buffalo Surge, 6-4. Randy Colón earned his 17th save in 22 chances. Providence raised its record to 55-37 with the win.

Seymour Baltz had a big 2-run double for the Crabs in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Providence leading 4-3 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from 25-year old right-handed pitcher Lieutenant Dudz and swatted a double to center. It was his 27th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Crabs ahead, 6-3.

"Crabby just went about his business, throwing strikes," said Providence manager .
