A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Death Valley Scorpions and Seattle Sea Serpents.

Good production from center fielder Yvonne Escence helped the Death Valley Scorpions topple the Seattle Sea Serpents, 10-3. Escence went 3-4 with 2 doubles and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Scorpions. Guy Roussy got the win, improving to 8-8. He held the Sea Serpents to 2 runs on 4 hits over 7 innings, while striking out 6 and walking 2.

One of the clutch hits for Death Valley came from one of their biggest talents. In the top of the seventh with one out, Ted Giannoulas, who is tied for 4th in the Champions with a .595 slugging percentage, hit a grand slam home run to put the Scorpions up, 9-2. For the game, the first baseman was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 5 runs and scored once.

"I was hoping to make good contact," said Escence. "I wasn't trying to knock the snot out of it."

Death Valley now has a 3-game win streak.
