Firehawks Come Back Late, Nip Swift Steeds
State College got a big-time effort from pitcher Kris Rice, but it wasn't enough to keep the California Firehawks from winning the game, 3-2. Rice threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. The Swift Steeds , now 46-49, have lost 6 in a row.

Ethan Voss was 1-3 for California. With one out and the game tied in the bottom of the eighth inning, Voss, who is tied for 2nd in the MiLPBE in doubles with 23, had a clutch at-bat. Facing State College hurler Valente Martinez, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Firehawks a 3-2 lead.

"What's not to like about a win?" said Voss.
