Althouse Pops Two Homers in 6-1 Win for Florida
|
The 6-1 Florida win over State College was due largely to Link Althouse. The Flamingos first baseman was 3 for 4 with 2 home runs and a double. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4. The winner was Sigandi Legend, who threw 88 pitches over 6.1 innings. The left-hander was charged with 1 run on 3 hits. Picking up the save was Hex Waters V, his 4th.
Early in the game, Althouse had a 2-run home run for Florida. It was his 19th home run of the season and put the Flamingos on top, 2-0.
Althouse called the win "a collective effort."
With the win, Florida pushed its record to 54-46.
