Fading Swift Steeds Lose 11th Straight
The Puerto Rico Ranas beat the State College Swift Steeds , 2-1. Puerto Rico pitcher and Tampa, Florida, native Batting Practice led the way. Puerto Rico reliever Jerry Berry picked up the win, upping his record to 5-2. Newt U Wertrouble took the loss. The Swift Steeds , at 37-64, have lost 11 in a row.

Jeremiah Bullfrog was the walk-off hero for Puerto Rico. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Ranas third baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"This losing is getting old," said State College manager .
