Led by Durian Crag, the Brew City Bears defeated the Kansas City Hepcats, 6-5. Crag was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Bears. Jack Dupp got the win, improving to 15-5. He held the Hepcats to 3 runs on 6 hits over 6.1 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 2. "Fire" Aaron Boone got credit for the save for Brew City. It was his 19th of the year.
With one out in the top of the eighth, Gary the Giraffe had a game-changing hit. The Bears shortstop slammed a 2-run single off Matthew Murdock, making the score 6-3, Brew City.
"I believe in our guys," said Brew City skipper . "I like the energy they're playing with."
With the win, Brew City pushed its record to 63-42.
