Swift Steeds Come Up Short at Florida, 3-2
|
Florida turned a good effort from starter Frosty Steele into a win over the State College Swift Steeds at The Mound. The final score was 3-2. Hex Waters V earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. His record is now 2-5. Swingand Amiss converted his 17th save in 20 tries.
Pierre Phillip was 1 for 3 with a walk for Florida. The 22-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring walk off Nero Mantics. It was his 46th walk of the season.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," State College manager said following the tough loss.
The winning streak has now reached 5 games for Florida.
