Due in large part to center fielder Where Wolf, the New Orleans Rougarous sunk the Seattle Sea Serpents, 4-3. Wolf went 4 for 4 with a double and 3 singles. He scored 2 times. The winner in relief was Ea Nasir. He is now 1-0. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 3.1 innings. With the loss, Seattle falls to 0-2.

Up to bat in the bottom of the ninth, reigning Most Valuable Player Award winner AJ Boucher had a chance to be the hero. Seattle pitcher Kip Treadwell wanted to foil that plan. But with one out, Boucher hit a sacrifice fly. The Rougarous had themselves a thrilling win.

After the game, New Orleans manager applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
