Scorpions Improve to 60-47 with 6-4 Win
The New Orleans Rougarous got a superb performance from pitcher Fenrir Lyken, but the Death Valley Scorpions still won the game, 6-4. Lyken threw 6.0 innings of 5-hit ball. Bandit Keith, now 2-4, was credited with the win. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 0. Ray Xavier recorded the save, making him 12 for 20.

The Scorpions got a big at-bat from third baseman Daniel Plainview. For the game, Plainview was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 15th home run of the season gave Death Valley a 3-1 lead.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Plainview told the Death Valley News.

With the win, the Scorpions sit at 60-47.
