Rougarous Drop 9-3 Decision
|
A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Cancun Toros and New Orleans Rougarous.
The timely hitting of Feka Ohi Kau helped the Cancun Toros down the New Orleans Rougarous, 9-3. Ohi Kau went 2-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4 for the Toros. The winning pitcher was Nova Montagne. He tossed 106 pitches over 7 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits.
The Cancun win was a team effort. It included major contributions from, among others, Nate Nitro. In the bottom of the first, the Cancun designated hitter came to bat and hit a run-scoring single. It staked his team to a 1-0 lead.
"The name of the game is scoring runs," Nitro said. "We did a good job of that today."
Cancun now sits in second place in the Champions Conference West at 60-48.
