Swift Steeds Even With Lemurs After Home Win
With second baseman Krish Gainz leading the charge, the State College Swift Steeds defeated the visiting Louisville Lemurs, 7-5, in Game 2 of the First Round today. Gainz went 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk. He scored 2 runs at Count Longardeaux's Strong Badian Dictionary Fo' My Own Words Stadium to help State College force a 1-1 tie in the best-of-5 series.

Had Bazooka Slow not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Slow hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Swift Steeds .

"Winning is contagious," said Gainz. "We're looking forward to the next game."

The next game is set to be played for Sunday, September 20th , 2071 at Kenny Payne Appreciation Stadium in Providence.
