Bears Heading to Semi-FInals
|
The Brew City Bears didn't hold back their excitement after beating the Florida Flamingos in the First Round tonight.
Members of the team rushed onto the field and celebrated joyously when the victory became official, with a 9-6 win moving the club on to the Semi-FInals, clinching a 3-1 series win in front of the Florida Man Park crowd.
"This isn't the big one, but of course we need to get through this before we can win a World Series, so it's an important step," said Patrick Eshenbaugh as he took a break from celebrating. "Our guys are happy and excited to be moving on."
Eshenbaugh was named series MVP, as he hit .438 with a .500 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 3 RBI and scored 3 runs.
On the other side of the diamond, there was desolation. Many members of the Flamingos sat stone-faced in their dugouts, simply watching Brew City celebrate.
The Semi-FInals matchups and schedule will be announced after the First Round finishes.
