Mexicano, Kingpins Wallop Wheelers in Game 2 of FR
|
With third baseman El Grande Mexicano leading the charge, the Chicago Kingpins got a road win over the Anchorage Wheelers, 9-1, in Game 2 of the First Round. Mexicano went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 3 and driving in 3 at Balto Memorial Field at The Igloo to help Chicago force a 1-1 tie in the best-of-5 series.
Chicago took advantage of an error in the top of the sixth inning. The game was tied, 1-1, when JD Pants hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put the Kingpins in front, 2-1.
"We were able to put some runs on the board," said Pants after the game.
The next game is set to be played for Friday, September 21st , 2074 at The Jose Forty-Three Stadium in Providence.
