Anchorage Wheelers manager knew it was a gamble to give the start to a rookie. It was a good gamble to take.

Pitching in front of a hostile crowd, 21-year-old right-hander Ollie Damra silenced the host Amarillo Armadillos at The Burrow Presented By Frankie's Fun Bites. The Wheelers shut out the Armadillos by a final score of 3-0, to give the Wheelers a 1-0 advantage in the best-of-7 Semi-FInals.

It could have been a different outcome for Anchorage, had it not been for Rex Jordan, the 22-year old center fielder . Jordan contributed a solo home run in the top of the fifth inning to put Anchorage up, 2-0.

Damra called the win "a collective effort."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Burrow Presented By Frankie's Fun Bites in Providence.
