Riding the 2-hit performance of third baseman Gnome Child, the Kansas City Hepcats got a road win against the State College Swift Steeds , 5-3, in Game 3 of the Semi-FInals today. Child went 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times for the Hepcats, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 3 games to 0.
The outcome might have been different for Kansas City, had it not been for A.J. Justice, the 21-year old first baseman . Justice stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put Kansas City up, 5-3. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.
Child called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
