Behind a bravura effort from starter Anthony Stover, the Kansas City Hepcats topped the Brew City Bears by the score of 3-0 today and got their first win in the 2070 World Series. Stover threw 5.2 innings of shutout ball for the Hepcats. The win moves Kansas City into a 1-1 tie with Brew City.

Bookie Metts aided the Kansas City cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the second. For the game, the second baseman was 1-3.

"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Stover.

Game 3 is scheduled for Sunday at Walter Partlo Memorial Stadium at The Tap House in Providence.
