Almost There: New York On Cusp of World Series Triumph After 10-3 Win
|
Riding the 2-hit performance of left fielder Kanutake MeHire, the New York Voyagers got a road win against the Death Valley Scorpions, 10-3, in Game 4 of the World Series. MeHire was 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 4 times for the Voyagers, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 3 games to 1.
In the top of the second, New York third baseman Summuh Dog had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 2nd and one out, Dog stroked a run-scoring single to center. It made the score 3-2, New York. For the game, he was 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2.
"Nice win for us," said Dog. "Now we'll go after the next one."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Cari Price Memorial Stadium in Providence.
