Home Field Advantage: Kove, New York Open Divisional Series with Win
|
The New York Voyagers powered past the visiting Vancouver Vandals, 3-2, in the opener of the Divisional Series at Vaughn's House today. New York starting pitcher Retsnomekalyag Kove threw 5.0 innings of 4-hit ball, to lead the charge. The Voyagers now lead the series 1-0.
Matsui Hidari, the New York first baseman, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the sixth inning to make the score 3-2, Voyagers. For the game, Hidari was 2-4 with 2 singles.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Vancouver skipper , "and it cost us."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Vaughn's House in Providence.
