Voyagers Raise Rally Flag, Beat Vancouver, 4-2
|
New York starter Kelvin Gauzeman had a strong outing against the Vancouver Vandals at The Scudder Forty-Three Stadium. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 4-2 win. New York reliever Romeo Rosas picked up the win, upping his record to 1-2. Darren Clapp shouldered the loss. Katsuki Bakugo finished the game for New York and earned his 2nd save.
New York used the clutch hitting of Bighurt Thomas to capture the win. The catcher drilled a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to give the Voyagers the lead, 4-2. For the game, Thomas had 2 singles and 1 double in 5 at-bats.
Vancouver manager said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
New York now owns a record of 12-15.
