Toros Pull Off Thrilling 4-3 Win in Extras
|
The Vancouver Vandals got a superb performance from pitcher Darren Clapp. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Cancun. The Toros won the game, 4-3. Clapp threw 6.1 innings allowing 3 runs. Cancun reliever Roquefort Cotswald picked up the win, raising his record to 2-1. Capsaicin Shrub was tagged with the loss. John Cowgill picked up the save for Cancun, his 1st of the year.
Cancun relied on the bat of Troy Murphy to get the win. The left fielder ripped a solo home run in the top of the 12th inning to put the Toros ahead, 4-3. For the game, Murphy had 1 double and 1 home run in 6 at-bats.
"It feels good to get this one," Murphy told the Cancun Today.
Vancouver's current losing streak is now 4 games.
