The Cancun Toros knocked off the Detroit Demons, 4-1, in Champions Conference action at Coliseo Toros, presentado por VINS. Cancun pitcher and Lakeville, Minnesota, native Ryan Lee had an outstanding performance. The win went to Lizzie WOOOOHOOOO in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Remy Lebeau took the loss. Samuel Smoltz got credit for the save for Cancun. It was his 1st of the year.

Had Myles Meredith not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Meredith hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Toros.

Cancun manager called it "a good, solid win."

The loss drops Detroit to 2-3.
