The Cancun Toros topped the Nashville Stars, 8-6, in Champions Conference action at Gibson Soundstage. The game was highlighted by the performance of Cancun second baseman Griffin Stone. John Cowgill, the winner, is now 10-1. He struck out 4 and walked 2 over 5.2 innings, while allowing 3 runs on 6 hits. Lizzie WOOOOHOOOO notched his 13th save of the season.

Early in the game, Stone had a solo home run for Cancun. It was his 8th home run of the season and put the Toros on top, 1-0.

"I still think this team can play even better," Stone told the Cancun Today.

The setback makes Nashville 29-20.
