Kingpins Topple Ranas, 5-3, as East Shines
|
With designated hitter Joe East leading the charge, the Chicago Kingpins defeated the Puerto Rico Ranas, 5-3, at The Jose Forty-Three Stadium. East, who leads the MiLPBE in RBI with 24, went 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. Chicago reliever Marcus DaWorm picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Dr. LBG [BOT] was saddled with the loss. The loss drops Puerto Rico to 9-9.
Had East not come through in the bottom of the eighth, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, East hit a 2-run single. The Kingpins took the lead, 5-3, and never looked back.
"Nice to tuck this win away," said East.
