Kanutake MeHire made an impact in the 8-5 California win over Chicago. MeHire, who is tied for 8th in the MiLPBE in runs scored with 18, went 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. California pitcher Rusty Shackleford got the win. He's now 1-0. Chad Innings-Eater was tagged with the loss. Picking up the save was Sandman Summers, his 4th.

Salvatore Bonpensiero helped out the California cause in the bottom of the first inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the first baseman was 1-4.
