Armadillos Upend Kingpins, 2-1
|
The Amarillo Armadillos got a strong performance from pitcher Harold Smith, who stymied the Chicago offense en route to a win, 2-1, at The Jose Forty-Three Stadium. Smith picked up the win for Amarillo, going 5.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 2 hits. He now sports a record of 4-0. Trongle Man earned the save for Amarillo, his 3rd of the year.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Walter Walterson? The Amarillo third baseman had a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Armadillos on top, 2-0. For the game, Walterson had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Walterson said after the game.
With the win, the Armadillos sit at 20-9.
