Anchorage pitcher Jiggs Kingman had a large part in his team beating the Chicago Kingpins, 5-3. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. George Fantobens came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. His record now stands at 1-0. Ice Bear got credit for the save for Anchorage. It was his 1st of the year.

Joey Maxx drew 2 walks in 4 plate appearances for Anchorage. The 32-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring walk off Joseph Mathys Hendry. It was his 14th walk of the season.

"This was a good win," said Maxx.

Anchorage now has a record of 18-11 with the win.
