Apex Earn Win with Late Rally

The Indianapolis Apex did just enough to sneak past the Providence Crabs, 7-6, at The Brickyard. Indianapolis first baseman Iesuhc Yttef, in particular, had a standout performance. The win belonged to James Noble in relief. His record improves to 4-4. Nathanael Abel took the loss for Providence. Stu Macher recorded the save for Indianapolis, his 9th of the season.
Had Edward Mackinlay not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Mackinlay hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 7-6, in favor of the Apex.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Providence manager . "The effort was great."
The Apex now have a record of 38-39 with the win over Providence.
