Cancun Upended, 8-3, by New Orleans
|
The New Orleans Rougarous defeated the Cancun Toros, 8-3, at Full Moon Stadium. Leading the charge for New Orleans was center fielder Axel Babineaux. He was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Griff Manzer got the win, improving to 2-1. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 6 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 2. The loss has the Toros at 7-4.
Air Yordong was 1 for 3 with a walk for New Orleans. The three-time All-Star had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Taylor Adkins. It was his 12th RBI of the season.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Yordong told the New Orleans Observer.
