Sloths LF Brown Gets the Cycle
Sunday, July 8th , 2068
Bartholomew Brown did everything he could for the San Antonio Sloths today -- literally.

The 34-year-old left fielder hit a single, a double, a triple and a home run for the Sloths, going for the cycle and helping them get past the Outer Banks Aviators, 6-5, at The Treehouse.

"Yeah, I was some kind of hitter in this game," Brown reflected later. "It was like all I had to do was close my eyes and swing the bat."

In a game headed for the record books, Brown banged out 4 hits in 5 at-bats and totaled 1 RBI and 2 runs scored. Speaking with the press about the feat, he attributed it to "a lot of luck."

"A triple is so hard to hit," he said. "To just decide to get one in a game when you need it for a cycle, it's impossible. Usually something weird has to happen, the ball kicking past an outfielder or somebody falling down. There's a ton of luck in hitting for a cycle."

Bartholomew Brown hit a solo-shot off Lanky Schramm in the 1st, tripled in the 3rd, grounded out in the 6th, doubled in the 8th and singled in the 9th.

This season Brown has hit at a .282 clip with 14 RBIs, 5 home runs and 45 runs scored.
