Ruiz Jr. Batters Detroit for 6 Hits Sunday, July 16th , 2079 It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 6-for-6 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Julio Ruiz Jr., it came around today. The 28-year-old third baseman scattered hits all over Demon's Lair at Laser Park to pace the 15-1 Outer Banks Aviators victory over the Detroit Demons. Detroit skipper told reporters in the press room that "Ruiz Jr. deserves a hat-tip." "He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Ruiz Jr. hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit." Julio Ruiz Jr. hit an RBI double in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Goaty McGoatFace in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Rene-Antoine LePouvoirs in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit a two-run home run off Brad Van de Hat in the 9th.
