Payne Joins Kings of Clout with #200 Friday, August 30th , 2080 It was a great day for Brian Payne, but not a good one for his Indianapolis Apex. The 34-year-old first baseman reached a personal milestone with his 200th career homer, but it wasn't enough to beat the New York Voyagers, who came away with a 8-4 victory. Payne finished the day with 2 hits, 2 runs batted in and 1 run scored. "Well, I've conceded the fact that you can't will yourself to hit a home run," he said. "I tried hard for the last few days. It was getting to be embarrassing with the crowd standing up every time I came to the plate." Career-to-date Payne has rung up a .290 average, played in 1284 games and collected 328 doubles, 20 triples and 200 home runs. View Boxscore View Game Log Watch Highlights |
