Phan Bangs Out 5 Base Hits
Friday, September 11th , 2071
After a 5-hit effort to lead State College's 7-6 victory over the Chicago Kingpins, third baseman Green-Chilaquil Phan told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."
"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the Minor League PBE-level is really something special."
The 21-year-old player earned his accolades today at Count Longardeaux's Strong Badian Dictionary Fo' My Own Words Stadium with a spectacular 5-for-6 game against the Kingpins.
"His swing is getting there," said Swift Steeds skipper , who spoke glowingly of Phan after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Green-Chilaquil did that to perfection today."
Green-Chilaquil Phan doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th, grounded out in the 9th and singled in the 12th.
This season Phan has hit at a .293 clip with 68 RBIs, 19 home runs and 72 runs scored.
