Afirst Tags Bears for 5 Hits
Friday, June 17th , 2072
Even as a kid, Notworth Afirst said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At The Jose Forty-Three Stadium today, Afirst showed how well he learned that lesson.
The 21-year-old third baseman had 5 hits in 6 at-bats for the Chicago Kingpins, helping his team knock off the Brew City Bears by a score of 4-3.
"They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did today."
Notworth Afirst singled in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Ryan Express in the 3rd, struck out in the 5th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 9th and singled in the 11th.
So far this year Afirst is batting .354 with 4 home runs.
