Afirst Tags Bears for 5 Hits Friday, June 17th , 2072 Even as a kid, Notworth Afirst said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At The Jose Forty-Three Stadium today, Afirst showed how well he learned that lesson. The 21-year-old third baseman had 5 hits in 6 at-bats for the Chicago Kingpins, helping his team knock off the Brew City Bears by a score of 4-3. "They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did today." Notworth Afirst singled in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Ryan Express in the 3rd, struck out in the 5th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 9th and singled in the 11th.
