Johnson Batters California for 5 Hits
Wednesday, June 29th , 2072
After a 5-hit effort to lead Kansas City's 6-5 victory over the California Firehawks, left fielder Sydney Johnson told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."
"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the Minor League PBE-level is really something special."
The 22-year-old player earned his accolades today at The Evil Dictator x Jose Forty-Three Best Friendship Ballpark with a spectacular 5-for-6 game against the Firehawks.
"His swing is getting there," said Hepcats skipper , who spoke glowingly of Johnson after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Sydney did that to perfection today."
Sydney Johnson hit a two-run single in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th, singled in the 10th and singled in the 12th.
Currently Johnson has 7 home runs and a .298 batting average.
