Wednesday, July 17th , 2069
The Brew City Bears stopped the Puerto Rico Ranas by a score of 10-5 at Kay Faraday Memorial Stadium today, with the lion's share of the credit going to first baseman Geoff Bass. The 23-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.
"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Bass said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."
Bass did just that in his 6 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Ranas.
"Not much that I can say," offered Puerto Rico manager . "He just hammered the heck out of us."
Geoff Bass singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, flied out in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Dr. LBG in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Punish Vandals in the 9th.
Bass is swinging at a .307 pace on the year with 6 home runs, 31 RBIs and 21 runs scored. He has played in 51 games.
