California Takes First Round in Deciding Game Monday, September 23rd , 2069 The joy and relief on the faces of the California Firehawks players was obvious as they celebrated their First Round win over the Florida Flamingos. "In a series like this, the smallest thing can make the difference in how it turns out," said California left fielder Deion Sandals, shortly after the 4-3 win that clinched the series 3-2. "We're happy we did what it takes to get it done." The team is now off to the Semi-FInals. Sandals won series MVP honors on the strength of his .450 batting average during the series.
