5-Hit Game for Morning Thursday, August 8th , 2080 Misty Morning knows as well as anyone that in baseball, the biggest contracts go to the biggest hitters. At Balto Memorial Field at The Igloo, he made his case to be considered among that group. The 23-year-old designated hitter hammered 5 hits in 7 chances, though the remarkable effort came even as his Anchorage Wheelers fell, 8-7, to the State College Swift Steeds . "We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," Swift Steeds manager told BNN sportswriters after the game. "Thankfully, we were able to do enough elsewhere that Morning wasn't the difference." Misty Morning grounded out in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Kris Rice in the 8th, singled in the 9th, singled in the 11th, walked in the 13th and hit a two-run home run off Edward Marshman in the 15th. In his season totals Morning has 12 home runs and a .310 batting average. View Boxscore View Game Log Watch Highlights |
