Wheelers Get Thrilling 6-5 Win
|
Though he had a stellar game, Tung Tung Tung Sahur could not prevent his team, the Florida Flamingos, from losing, 6-5, to the Anchorage Wheelers. Sahur was 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Anchorage now sits at 36-49, while Florida falls to 53-32.
The game was at a stalemate until second baseman Robin Banks came to bat in the top of the tenth. Facing Florida pitcher Saint Pete [BOT], he hit a 3-0 cutter for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Anchorage on top, 6-5.
"The game is never over 'til it's over," said a jubilant , the Anchorage skipper.
